How do I name my team and driver in career mode?
Both names live on the season. Open Seasons, pick the season, open its menu and click Edit. A My Team season has a Team name and a Driver name field. A Driver Career season has a Driver name field.
Team name
The game only tells us you're racing in My Team. It never sends the name you gave your team, so every My Team player would show up as "My Team". The Team name field fixes that. Whatever you type there is your constructor in the standings, the race list, the session list, the session summary and Copy for AI.
Leave it empty and you're "My Team". If you named the season something else earlier, like "Season 2", put the team name there instead. The season number has its own field.
Driver name
The game reports your own car as "User", never as your character. F1Laps shows that row as "You" by default. Set a Driver name and it replaces "You" in the standings, the results table and every race classification of that season.
The name is per season. Your Driver Career and your My Team career can carry different names, and a new season starts blank. That's why it isn't an account setting.
What you can't rename
- Your teammate and the AI. Their names come from the game. Real drivers show as themselves. Rookies and other made-up drivers show the name the game reports.
- Sessions outside a season. A session that isn't assigned to a season has nothing to read the names from, so it shows "You" and "My Team". Assign it to the season and the names follow.
Both fields are free, on every plan, for every game from F1 2020 to F1 26.
