Dark Mode is Now Available on F1Laps
We're excited to announce that dark mode is now available across the entire F1Laps platform. Whether you prefer racing through telemetry in the dark or keeping things bright, you now have full control over your viewing experience.
Three Theme Options
You can now choose from three display modes in your profile settings:
Light Mode: The classic F1Laps experience with our familiar bright interface. Perfect for analyzing telemetry in well-lit environments.
Dark Mode: A sleek, dark interface that's easier on the eyes during late-night practice sessions or when analyzing data in dim lighting. The dark theme uses a subtle indigo tint that maintains F1Laps' racing aesthetic while reducing eye strain.
System: Automatically matches your device or browser preference. If you've set your computer or phone to dark mode, F1Laps will follow suit. Switch your system preference, and F1Laps updates instantly.
Where Dark Mode Works
Dark mode has been implemented across the entire platform. Every page you use maintains your chosen theme preference, creating a consistent experience whether you're comparing lap times at 2pm or fine-tuning your Monza setup at 2am.
How to Enable Dark Mode
Changing your theme preference takes seconds:
- Navigate to your profile settings
- Scroll to the "Settings" section
- Find the "Theme" option
- Select Light, Dark, or System
Your preference saves automatically and applies across all your devices where you're logged in.
Technical Implementation
For those curious about the technical details: dark mode uses semantic CSS variables and Tailwind CSS, ensuring consistent theming across the entire application. The system respects your preference at the server level, meaning pages load in your chosen theme without any flash of unstyled content.
We've carefully tuned the color palette for proper contrast ratios and accessibility standards, so whether you're running light or dark mode, all telemetry data remains crisp and readable.
Available to Everyone
Dark mode is available to all F1Laps users - free and premium members alike. We believe essential interface preferences should be accessible to everyone in the community.
